It's Friday, what have YOU learned?

I have learned.........

I have to go the long weekend without my new car!
Being a single mom is very challanging, but rewarding
Good friends are hard to come by, cherish the ones you have.
Pretz's daughter is getting married tomorrow and the weather is looking wonderful!
My dc kids make me smile with their little quirks daily, gotta love kids
SZQ is going to the EX. Have a blast girl!!!!!
Skully is still smoke free, way to go man! Im proud!
Bonnie, my prayers are with you today, stay strong

So what have you learned?

I have learned.....

that you really need to think long and hard about who you want to invite to your daughter's wedding because you can't change your mind once the invitations go out even though you'd like to a couple weeks before the wedding

people respond that they are coming and then you find out closer to the day that they really aren't coming but you still have to pay for those dinners you ordered

you aren't losing your daughter, you're gaining the son you never had

I need to prepare myself that not everything will go perfectly tomorrow

Leslie has a very good memory!

I have learned:
I'm going to listen and learn from Pretz's wedding experiences (I have one coming up in June)
Everyone needs a shoulder once in a while
Our cousins have called twice this week, so looking forward to our visit tomorrow. They're in their mid eighties.
Skully has great Will Power
My hubby's daughter is not coming for a visit this weekend!
Leslie is excited about her new car and rightly so!

I learned that it is hard to clean paintball paint off kids slide. Some kids just don't have anything better to do.

There ARE places to quad in Norfolk County. My husband will be thrilled!

A few things that I have learned this week...

My daughters enjoy our weekly venture to the market

I took my grandson to the African Lions Safari on Wednesday the sound
of his laughter over the monkey's I can still hear and brings a smile to my face
he's 4 and it was his first time I have learned from that, that no matter what
I'm doing make sure he always has something to laugh about
From that day I have also learned that I'm really not that afraid to ride
an elephant...lol What an experience

I have on the stove right now some tomatoes making homemade soup I have to
learn patience because it smells so yummy

I've found out this week that it's hard to work nights every other night. You're always tired

I learned stuff I wished never happened.
I also learned it's been a really rough week and better times ahead.
I learned people shouldn't blame themselves for something they have no control over.
It's good to have people you can count on (Leslie you know who you are)

It's Saturday...but this past week was spent in BC helping an 85 year old veteran/cousin plan his funeral as he is dying of cancer.

I have learned that old soldiers are still fighting their wars;
...that war changes people for a lifetime;
...that sometimes you have to just be quiet and listen;
...that sometimes you have to bite your lip and not respond to irritability or irrationality;
...that money can't buy you peace at the end of your life;
...that Dieppe was a total disaster caused by lack of preparedness and inefficiencies of the British command;
...that many people died in war without need or reason;
...that many veterans carry a great deal of pain in their hearts and in their psyches;
...that having a close relationship with a veteran is a gift that opens your eyes to the realities of our freedom...and how very close we were to losing it!
...that veterans are people who lived...and fought ...and died for others because they believed in a mission and in an ideal.
This week...I have learned....so much!
