| I learned that most kids are happy to be back to school. My grandkids are happy to be back. And I am happy that they are happy!
I remind myself that there are ups and downs in life..ebbs and flows. Just like the ocean.

| I have learned that no matter how many different tomato recipes I try, I can still find more I took my mom to Brantford and we went to a place called Strobe's, from the outside doesn't look like much but wow very nice take out food inside...We had chicken sandwiches that were so yummy...Doesn't have to be fancy to have excellent food Realized it's good to laugh at myself it made me feel good...I bought a skirt and didn't try it on and wore it to a meeting felt funny on my stomach so during the meeting I looked down...Didn't realize at first I was feeling a panel... Here I bought myself a maternity skirt...I have had such a good laugh over it | |

| I have realized that when a baby has no diaper on, and you let him crawl around for a bit, he will poop on the carpet. Not the non carpeted area, but on the carpet. And boy did he ever poop. It had to be the funniest thing of the whole day.

| Skully....think about your children and the new baby on the way. Try to envision a more mentally challenge job and go out for it. Don't smoke! | |

| Today I learned about finding an abandoned cemetery, in another county, in the middle of a concession, in the middle of a farmer's field, on the word of our 12 year old "guide", the son of a farmer whose property borders the cemetery. It was waaaay cool! (But not the cemetery we were searching for!!) | |

Well I do have my first aid and CPR certificate, I do have my forklift license, I do have a chemical license, I do have 11 years of manager skills through growing tobacco and I am willing to take on any training any job requires. I know alot of people working there with less experience than that. Stelco is a place I would hang my hat on and stay a long time and they wouldnt be disappointed, they just need to give me a chance

| Skully, with your skills, it sounds as if your resume needs a "sprucing up".
Job searches are exercising in self-marketing. There are places in the community that can help you with this, free of charge - the Employment Centre or perhaps Fanshawe. Perhaps, given your situation as a tobacco grower, there are extra services to help you with job searches and resumes. There are also many people out there who will do it for a fee.
So, before you head out to Stelco again with the same old resume, see if you can fix it up to better reflect your skills and qualities

| My son got called for a couple of interviews...but still didn't get the job at the very last level.
A young man I spoke to recently with all his related courses completed did all their testing and was told he had the highest mark ever. The guy at the testing centre said:"I guess we'll be seeing you soon!" Then nothing. He got no call.
He later heard they hired three guys...all had mothers who worked there! Do you believe it?? (I do.) You might say it's just rumour. But look at the kids getting into teaching. Some kids never get the fulltime jobs...but others...do. Sometimes it's as simple as your last name.
