| Where are all the good bakeries.. I recall there used to be an amazing one on Robinson St in Simcoe in the 70's and 80's before it became British Baked Goods...does anyone recall it...I always remember going in and the lady behind the counter giving a free cookie to each of my children...their Butter Tarts and Cinammon Donuts were to die for.... | |

| Have you ever tried the bakery in Courtland? They have some really delicious things in there........my favorite by far is their turtle brownies......a little on the pricey side if you're buying several but an EXCELLENT treat if you're looking to munch on something on the ride home! | |

| Some good bakeries in Norwich. The one on Robinson was Nichols Bakery and I loved their potato salad! Yum!! | |

| Sally's Bakery in Port Dover should be on the best list too. Courtland Bakery is the very best in Norfolk though...... | |

| Ann Rowling is my neighbour and still baking but now for the grandkids. A very nice lady indeed! My favourite treat at Nicholls was their blueberry turnovers and their homemade dinner rolls. | |

| Pretz, the next time you are talking with Ann, please tell her how many wonderful memories she and her husband created from their kindness. I can remember my children, now 33 and 25, always getting a cookie when we went into the bake shop. The ladies behind the counter were always so polite and patient. I, too, loved their potato salad and their honey glazed dough nuts and every once in a while, an eclair with a thin chocolate coating on top of the mound of whipping cream. Yummie yummie! I'm wondering too if the late Dorothy (?) Deming worked there? Great bakery but even greater owners. | |

| CKING AND SZQ, I will pass on your kind compliments to Ann. She is such a lovely person and she was the one and only neighbour that welcomed me to the neighbourhood when I moved in last year. I don't see her alot but I will ask her for the potato salad recipe next time I do see her. Perhaps I will go across one day soon and ask her for it. If and when I get it I will post it on this site or send it to your personal boxes. Yes, those honey dip donuts were declicious also. | |

| Just had a visit from Ann wanting to know if it was me that posted on this site. Her son came across this thread and showed it to her. I think she was a little surprised at all the positive feedback the bake shop is still getting. Unfortunately she does not have the potato salad recipe as she was not responsible for making it. Sid always had the recipes in his head and never put anything down on paper. Therefore Ann has no recipes from the bake shop other than one cookie recipe. | |
