Hopefully you both had a good time and you were able to take your mind off your worries for a while.

$50 in a few hours spent on one child? I could spend that easily in an hour on both my girls and it would be worth it. Don't even compare the $50 to Disney as my daughter and I went there last year and for 4 days was well over $1200 without spending money.

Time spent with my girls no matter cost = priceless.

I would spread that out over 3 outings...McDonald's one day....the show and popcorn the next. And another day, an ice cream treat and a trip to the duck park! Seems kind of overkill to me!

Lots of ways to save money! Eat at home before you go to the show. One of your superburgers would be much more nutritious with a few carrot sticks on the side. Why blow the whole bank on one outing anyway? (How did she manage to pack all that in over a 3 hour period?)

I prefer more outings with less expense. But that's Grandma-logic talkin'....

Anytime spent with a child is PRICELESS.
I spend everyday with my daycare kids and my own boys!
Very much worth any amount of money in my eyes.

Sure it is but I enjoy the time with my kids better without the hundred dollar bills flying around lol, if I had a million to spend id spend every last cent on them but I dont so its an eye opener when you just go for a quick afternoon out and spend 50 bucks. My sister lives in north carolina and we madew a trip there in the spring, it just amazes me how much cheaper things are there then here. We went to the show there for around 6 bucks, pops for 50 cents, happy meals for 3 bucks, i dont get how there can be such a difference, is our country a bunch of suckers? Same goes for vehicles there, 5-10000 cheaper

As you can tell i was unable to look her in the eyes and say no lol

Sounds like she has daddy wrapped around her finger. Surprised)
Things are cheaper in the States and I have no clue why, its always been that way. If you notice go to Rotten Ronnies out of town and it cheaper. Its a Simcoe thing LOL

I tend to want to make sure I raise my kids in a good enviroment, spending money i dont have and putting them at risk of living on the street in the near future is not what i want to happen, maybe you dont care but I do.

Point of this discussion was not about my kid, it was about how everything is overpriced around here and the fact you cant enjoy much of anything anymore without spending your grocery money.

As for the falls, youll prolly spend about 1000-2000, have fun im sure it will be worth every dime affraid Laughing

They still have $4 Tuesdays at the Strand. And MacDonald's sundaes are still a good price!

I also save a little money by not ordering anything for myself!

The Dairy Queen to me is hugely over-priced. We can't go there anyway because the little one has a peanut allergy and they have not gotten into the real world by providing a peanut-free ice cream treat or a peanut-free environment for preparing their ice cream products!

I contacted their head office and no one seemed to care too much about this issue....

well thats good to know, maybe ill take her again on a tuesday once, i just found it weird that a child is just as much as an adult and an afternoon show where no one is there i was thinking it was gonna be cheaper.

Next time try a movie and McD's in Ancaster or Burlington. Bet the $100 wouldn't cover it.

As for things in the states being so cheap, I bet they don't think so.
