my son is married to a girl I don't like. I secretly joined forces with the girl's ex to destroy the girl and hopefully my son's marriage Is that so wrong?

Wow, glad I don't have you for a Mother-In-Law

Of course, I get along great with my Mother-In-Law. How can you complain about having your wife's mother bringing you fresh baked goods on a regular basis.

Are you for real? Or is this some kind of joke? I certainly hope there were no children involved in this intentional breakup!

When your son finds out what you did, and I'm sure he will, you will be lucky if your son doesn't disown you. Remember, what goes around comes around!

You are horrible, you better think twice about what you are doing, because it will bite you in the butt. Maybe you should try being civil around her, that might make a difference.

But the reality is when it is found out what you are doing, that will be it, your son will want nothing to do with you, and you will never see any children that they will have, or already have.

What a horrible thing to say...Your son chose her for a reason...Not for you...But for him...Let him be happy and
enjoy the fact that he has found someone to love...Siding with her ex is childish...Exes can be very
bitter...You have to remember that an ex is an ex for a reason...Instead of joining a side you should
be happy for your son

I'm not fond of my son's girlfriend. But, it's HIS choice and not mine to make. I love my son and value our relationship, as you should with your son. Trust in your son and always be there for him regardless of the mistakes he makes in his life. Never interfere...things have a way of coming back and biting you in the butt.

Blood ties SHOULD run more deeply than a connection with somebody's ex!?
Especially mother to son! Oh, my!

Seems to be some "competition" there simmering in the psyche of dear old Mama! If my son makes a choice not pleasing to me, ME! ME! Then I will sabotage his happiness by going through the back door and spoiling things for him because I was not asked for my input. And my blessing. Boy! Would Freud have a lot to say about THIS situation!

If my son ignores MY wishes in his regard, then I will punish him as he must be an extension of ME and MY wishes! He is not allowed to have an independent thought. Obviously, he would WANT to choose someone unlike his mother! Yikes!

Boy I hope this is a joke! My MIL passed away almost 11 years ago, and sometimes we didn't see eye to eye on things but we did get along. After all she is/was my husbands mother and if it wasn't for her he probably wouldn't be the person he is. Lets hope your son is more like his Dad!

my grandmother has a saying about this subject she says "she does not have to like to like her in-laws she just has to put up with them on holidays" or "i'm not the one that has to wake up to them every morning" so i have always taken that as meaning if her kids are happy thats all that matters.

It's something like choosing a pair of shoes or a vehicle. You sometimes look at the clothing your child chooses...and you wonder "what are they thinking!?"

Parents have to remember that their kids are not extensions of themselves.
What the child likes and the person they choose who "completes them" as a partner has nothing whatsoever to do with the parent.

Just be happy that they are not alone and lonely and that they have moved forward into the next stage of the growing process. Be happy that they are loved and making a life of their own. Step back and let them have a life.
As I see it...
