Beach Closed...who knew?

I got a call from a friend of mine from out of town who said that he had been at the Beach House Restaurant for dinner and saw notices declaring Port Dovers Beach Unsafe for swimming yesterday (Aug 8/08). He also said that all the signs were on the ground knocked or blown off the stakes that they had been on.

Nothing on the news or anywhere about it including the Health Unit web site. Kind of strange.

No quesiton that all the rain and weather has our sewer system full to capacity but someone dropped the ball here.

Just another reason I like having my own pool. Shame on the health inspectors for not letting the radio station know. IF it was just posted yesterday then it was too late for the newspaper. Imagine, it took a out of towner to tell us locals about the closed beach.

I see the beach as a very large litter box for cats. Gross!! I too have a pool for that reason!

I refuse to swim at Dover's beach since I saw raw sewage floating near the shore a few years ago . . .

They always seem to post when the beach is safe again but never when they are closed.
Cannot wait until the big pipe is dug from Simcoe.
