"I realize these are "max" values, but if you purchased 7 and are only getting 4, then I think that's misleading"
-The reasoning for this type of wording is your max can depend on where you are in relation to the server. It would appear I am closer to the main than you are (going by your speed post)
I'm not with Bell. I have cable with NorDel - who's fastest speed is 3.

But the info provided has been very helpful. I may have to give Bell a try considering it's cheaper and faster (hopefully faster upload with the 7 plan than what has been reported with the 4). I should check my neighborhood to see who else has it, since distance from the switching station (or whatever you call it) seems to be one of the key factors.

Unless you run a gigabit network card. Then the wire does 1000. Very Happy
I'll run wireless on my notebook but my main system will always be hard wired.

I am with Amtelecom and my speed test was faster than a friend who is with Bell and has high speed. When I use his computer it is sooo slow and he has business high speed and pays big bucks. A while back Bell did slow down their internet speed for some god forsaken reason and let me tell you it is hellish when you are in business and trying to get work done. He has already told Bell that when his contract is up he is going somewhere else.

There is no way for me to hardwire from my tower to kwic's tower. Has to be wireless from tower to tower to kwic. I do not have a phone line connection.
