| seems as if this trend is becoming a tad passe, thankfully (and it's about time)

an excerpt from this article:
<<Trends on the way out
Creative names: Forget U.S. states (Dakota), the four seasons (Summer) and fruit (Apple). Parents, perhaps recognizing their kids are not products who need clever marketing, are opting for old-fashioned dignity. Like Ava, Grace, Jacob and William. And, oh yeah, they are spelling them properly. >> | |

| I think the Jolie/Pitts are actually calling the girl by her first name Vivanne (spelling may be wrong) the Marcheline was Jolie's Mom's last name. My daughter pointed out something interesting, most boys named Jacob are second/thrid sons.Have any of you found this to be the case? All the little guys I know are little brothers. | |

| I know someone named Jacob and he is the first son. I don't find Jacob to be all that popular a name. | |

| You don't find Jacob popular? Really, you need to go to any school in southern Ontario and look at the enrollment lists. Also I'll bet a lot of the M.M. to the west of the county have atleast one Jacob per generation. | |

| My kids were in a JK/Montessori class this past year...there were no Jacobs in their class but both of their teachers have a son named Jacob, and two of the kids in their class have little brothers named Jacob. There are several boys in their school (population of around 100) named Jacob as well. We will have a new baby in our family in the fall, so we have been discussing names. Both of my older kids thought that little brothers had to be named Jacob! I think in the past five years its been a very popular name...btw...we will not be naming our new baby Jacob. | |
