With 26 years experience with similar treaty issues, the province has named Tom Molloy, 67, as Ontario's chief representative in talks with Six Nations and Ottawa over land claims.
For 10 years, he worked on Inuit land claims in the north that led to the establishment of Canada's newest territory Nunavut in 1999.
He worked in B.C. in 1998 to conclude the Nisga'a Treat successfully, the first land treaty claim in B.C.
Perhaps he will have the maturity, the experience and the wisdom to help see the way more clearly through this complicated issue. He obviously has an understanding of the complexity of these claims from his long-term involvement in similar conflicts. Let's cross our fingers!
