Anyone have a GPS?

I'm just wondering who has a GPS? I just purchased one about a month ago and I don't know what I did without one. I have always used mapquest and was quite happy with it. Using the GPS takes away any stress of missing a turn or reading the map or directions properly.
The big plus for me is I can find any Tim Hortons in any city without driving around and around! cheers

Yes I love my GPS as well. I used it last week to travel around Buffalo shopping. It's the best gift I have ever gotten!!

I have a Garmin Nuvi 260W. It's about 2 months old, and it too is one of the best purchases I have made. My wife thought it was a frivolous toy thing-now after using it in downtown Toronto she is very impressed. It's performed flawlessly.
My next trip to Buffalo I'm getting the 2008 map update-haven't seen it here yet.

How much is the Garmin Nuvi 2008 update and where in Buffalo do you get it?

I have had my GPS for 3 years now and I love it. My daughter plays hockey all over the and since my husband cannot drive anymore I had to do all the driving. We tried for a while using the maps from map quest but it was just to had for him to read the maps . A parent on my daughters hockey team showed me their GPS. I was hooked . I went and bought a Garmin street pilot c330 , at the time I paid $700 for it . Now they are so much cheaper, but boy did it make my life a lot easier .
I tried the Garmin Nuvi but didnt like it nearly as well as the Garmin street pilots.

Now i just pruschased a second one for when my daughter starts driving ... this time again I bought the Garmin street pilot series c550 with bluetooth and it also annouces the names of the streets. Alot cheaper paid $300 for this at the Source in Simcoe. My personal opion is Garmin all the way.

My son also has the Tom Tom on his cell ..he says not nearly as good as the Garmin. I am a really support of GPS LOL by the end of the hockey season last year 4 other familys bought GPS they all bought Garmin's

register you garmins on line and you can get the map updates for free i did on my street pilot c330

www.piratebay.org is one of the best place's to get software update's. That is, if you don't mind not paying.

I registered mine on line but they want $70.00 for the new update map. Will wait for a few years to update. It is the Garmin 650. I think she gets mad when I make her recalulate too many times.

Mine is the Garmin Nuvi 250 and it too costs $70 US to update the map. Can't find a free download anywhere.

I just read on another forum that Garmin used to give free updates, but alas....they no longer do. I guess they figured out they could make a few bucks! Mad

I was able to register my unit-(I was not able to do it when first purchased)and downloaded the 2009 maps free.
Took a while-2.04 Gig!
Then about 45 min for compile and download to the unit.
I don't know how they figure out if you qualify for the freebie-less than a year old?
The software I saw for sale at $69.99 was at a Radio Shack in Niagara Falls and was the 2008 version.

My Garmin Nuvi is less than a year old and I can't get a freebie download. I don't think it is fair at all and I sure don't want to pay $70 every year.

Yes I got ours at a cheaper price then the price thay have it for now.
