| Try Master Mechanic in Simcoe. on Norfolk Street south near Sobeys. I've gone there with several cars and no problem. | |

| It's just really hard to pass this car, mainly because it's an 88 car, with an 86 engine, all of the emissions controls are there but they are not the same up numbers as I should get from an 88 engine so it keeps failing no matter what I do.... | |

Get your car fixed, your killin my kids I guess you missed the part where I said the numbers arent the same for an 86 engine as they are for an 88 so there's not much else I could say to you here... It's failing on ONE section.. I want a mechanic who can help me pass, not just pass me because he can. E-tests are a huge scam anyway, if I had an 1987 car I could drive around with smoke coming out of the exhaust but since its a 1988 it IS the last year for etests.

Get your car fixed, your killin my kids Who the heck said I had a problem with you smoking near me? I have a problem if you're smoking in my house, or in my car, or even in a public indoor place....other than that I could really care less what you do.

| I won't pretend to know much about cars but if the motor is older by 2 years that you have wouldn't that be marked or noted on the emission test form? Take it to Queensway on 24 north. | |

| My truck didn't pass this year. I said to the mechanic at CT that I knew it wouldn't pass cause it burns a bit of oil. He told me that's not the reason it failed, it was something else. So I guess it can burn some oil and still pass is what I'm lead to believe. | |

| A 20 year old car doesn't need an e-test. But by far the best place to go is the emmision guy on norfolk street north in simcoe (Simcoe Emmissions I think) in the back of the monument/safety supply place. It is on the same side of the road as Ryerse Garden place just south of that. The reason this guy is the best is that he ONLY does E-tests. He does NO repairs so there is no benefit for him to fail the car, because he cannot charge you extra to fix it for you. I recently bought a 93 Acura with 240000 km for $450.00 for my son, and it passed with flying colors. | |

| Max, it used to be 20 years, but trust me it's 1987 or below, that don't need to get e-tested, it was 20 years, last year, then they just made 1987 the cutoff year. The car doesn't blow smoke, everythings almost brand new regarding the engine, its even a rebuilt engine, just different specs that Crappy Tire doesn't care about haha... I think queensway seems to be the place to go, thanks! | |

| Yup, Simcoe Emmissions is the place to go. Been taking my car there for years. Always fast and do a good job. Best part like others have said is all he does is the tests. No repairs thus no reason to find issues. | |

Agree with Simcoe Emissions - only thing is, they take only cash, but you can get cash at a nearby store.

I think queensway seems to be the place to go, thanks! I'm kinda confused about that 87 -'88 thing . I own 3 vehicles , an 88, a 94, and a 96. all needed the E-test last year. on this year's form, I can only purchase a one year sticker on the 2 90's models (because an etest is required next year) however, I can get a two year sticker on the 88, leading me to believe that they may not require an E-test on this one next year. Not that I would ever buy a two year sticker and give those gov't jerks an interest free loan, but thats a whole 'nother can of worms.... By the way Rye the Queensway Garage is pretty good at tweaking cars to get through the e-test. Simcoe emissions is no good to you in this situation as your car needs a little help to get by and they do not touch anything, which also makes them a good place to go to if you know your car will pass.

| Was your '94 and '96 cars purchased within the last year, or between the years to be tested? I mean even # cars to be tested on even years, so you maybe bought them in 2007 and they were etested when you bought them.....make sense???? | |

| I haven't had a chance to get it to the emissions place yet... been too busy with work....at least I'll be able to afford the required repairs now....already put enough into the car would like to finally be able to drive it! Damn government cash scam....a 1987 car blowing blue smoke out of the tailpipe is FINE by their standards but a 1988 that barely fails in one section is garbage. | |

| Sucks to be on the wrong side of the line. Drive Clean was really not well thought out. They test cars as new as two years old. How can a two year old car be in such bad shape as to fail? Even testing my 99 Civic is a joke. Last year when it was in is was so far below the bar is was not even funny. The one test it was 500% better. Ding me $40 to tell me what I already know? | |
