George Carlin had an incredible mind...he was a word wizard! Not to mention his fantastic memory and ability to link ideas and concepts and present the reality of the world around us in a rapid-fire, "don't-even-take-a-breath" style.

He got pretty harsh and "acerbic" in his later years. He was silly during his Hippy Dippy Weatherman days. But really mellowed into a social commentator. We saw him once in Hamilton about 6 years ago! I am a George Carlin fan and will miss his clever ramblings on our world.

I was shocked to hear the language on one of these awards programs the other night. Not sure what they were?? Soap operas etc. I think. Emmys perhaps?
And the one gal's language in her acceptance speech was quite vulgar! And inappropriate, I thought.

I don't see the "7 words etc" as that significant and responsible for modern age vulgarity....which is another issue. What was George Carlin's contribution to comedy, society..free speech?
