What is the basis for Regis Philbin's popularity? Wherever you look, there he is!
Seems he now has a NEW show "Million Dollar Password." What on earth is his on-going appeal?

It's a wonder older men have not taken on his "persona" and started to crimp their hair into those little wavy ridges! I find him not to be very appealing or interesting....

I'm with you CKing as I don't see anything appealing about Regis at all. In fact, he drives me nuts. I never watch anything that involves this man.

Regis looks like a store owner from the 50's.

Remember when store owners...men's wear, dry goods stores, pharmacists, shoe stores, banks....doctors... all wore SUITS and ties all the time and had very tidy hair. Crimped like that or slicked hair.

I remember that so clearly from when I was a child. And they wore APRONS at the hardware store with pockets.
Remember Carroll Brothers in Delhi?

I have to agree that the North American continent is in a sad state when one of their favourites appears to be Regis Philbin. Wish someone coould explain to me what his appeal might be.
