| My daughter in law owns two HM Franchises, so I'm a wee bit biased....LOL......however, as with any healthy living eating plan, WISE choices must be made, no matter which programme is used. Healthy eating has to be maintained on or off a programme. Personally, I do feel the HM programme is great! | |

| After knowing some who have used it (and no disrespect to SZQ and relatives) but to me it seemed like a very expensive way to lose, well for HM and other programs like it, and most don't realize that you have to maintain it after or it comes back. Also if you have to work out/excersize as well because your skin is a lot slower that fat loss so you inherit areas that hang.... I am more partial to just good old exercise and decent eating. It's cheap and once you get in your groove, it's a piece of cake to keep up | |

| My years of experience with dieting have taught me an incredible amount of wisdom.
Eat less + Move more= Lighter load!
That won't cost you a cent!

| What exactly is the basis of Herbal Magic? Is it an herb that revs up your metabolism? Does it interact with any other meds you might be on? What are the ingredients? Stuff like gingko biloba and all that? Is there any danger with people with health issues? | |

| Thanks for all your input .I know there is not a magic pill to lose weight. But I was looking for a little help with all the different natural herbs . I guess I will have to pedal a little harder when I go out on my bike. At least Comax and I have some thing in common we both do not have a anorexia problem. | |

| Here's something of interest from a magazine called "First" which I am considering: This is a 3 day plan. You start with one high protein day which shifts the body from burning glycogen (carbs) to burning body fat for energy. Then a 2-day "fruit cleanse."
Day 1-Drink a protein shake ( 1 scoop whey powder, soy powder or eggwhite powder with 8 oz. water) every two hours thro the day. Then eat a 6 CUP!!! ( you will start to grow rabbit ears!) raw veggie salad with 6 oz. lean protein, 1/2 avocado or 2 T. olive oil and the juice of 1 lemon or lime.
Day 2 and 3..Eat one serving of fresh seasonal fruit every two hours. For dinner enjoy a protein smoothie and a 6-cup raw veggie salad with 1/2 avocado etc. as above.
After the 3 days, you eat as much raw fruit as you wish for breakfast, lunch and between meals whenever hunger strikes. For dinner, 3 to 5 oz of lean protein, chicken or fish..with a large veggie salad and unlimited berries.
Supposedly cleanses your liver and tricks your body into thinking you are full by eating foods low on the energy density scale. That means they contain a lot of water and take up a lot of volume on the plate. Yet they have few calories. The fibre and protein molecules in fruit slow absorption of water. This makes you feel full longer.Pectin in fruit acts like a sponge in the digestive tract binding to fats before they can be absorbed. Pectin also forms a kind of gel in the gut that is digested slowly and carries the fat along with it and out.
Doing a "fruit cleanse " now can flush fat and bloat, rejuvenate damaged cellls and speed metabolism. It will surely improve your digestion!!
So with all the strawberries, watermelon and etc. at the markets right now...a good time to change your eating style! Not sure I can go 3 days on fruit alone...but worth a try to adjust your in-between snacks from donuts and chips to FRUIT! Simple enough, even if you just replace some of your fat snacks with fruit. Seems to make sense.
Here are the fruits that are best acc to their energy density: (the highlighted ones are the best) strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, grapefruit, cantalope, honeydew, papaya, peaches, tangerines, apricots, pineapple, plums, blueberries, apples. and oranges.
The "fruit flush" supposedly fires up your liver to burn fat 3X faster!

| Everyone has reasons as to why they cannot lose weight. Perhaps it's medical, physical or pyschological or cominbations thereof. My husband has been trying to lose weight for many years, following his own diet plan. It's never worked. So if you have tried your own diet plan and it hasn't worked, then maybe a guided, assisted programme will work for you. A friend of mine has lost 57 pounds following the HM routine. Her weight has stayed off for over a year now and all because, as she says, she learned to eat the right foods, right portions and loved the support offered by HM. Not one solution fits all. I think you need to do what's best for you. | |
