What kind of prizes do you like to have at a Buck and Doe? The cooler filled with an assortment of booze is always popular. What do you prefer to see?

At my daughter's recently they had movie passes, rounds of golf, a basket full of different dips and salad dressings, a beautiful print, a case of assorted tools, a sports bag, a cooler bag, plus more. The groom to be bought a Wii and then they sold tickets on that one. It was very popular. Alot of the prizes were donated by friends and family.

A girl ahead of me at Sobey's had $450 worth of gift cards from a variety of stores...as they do sell them there on that huge rack. LaSenza and Home Depot and etc. I would guess that's what she was doing.

Vouchers for oil change and gas. Vouchers for steaks. Last one we where at just past the door where they took your ticket they had a table set up with 5 nice gifts. wheel barrel with booze, poker set, vouchers for Hardware store, cooler with radio and booze and NACAR print. They were selling tickets $2.00 each or 3 for $5. Most were gifts from wedding party for the Buck and Doe.

Can you not still raffle boose.... if you raffled off a voucher "which is a piece of paper" valid for one bottle of Whiskey, Rum, whathaveyou... redeemable at the end of the party, or the next day at a specific address...can't you get around the law that prohibits the raffling off of Alcohol at these events.

Just a thought....

My daughter had guitar hero playing on a big screen, that was a big hit. They also had this company there that made videos of the guests, it had a green-screen and the video was of the guests head on a funny body dancing. You can ask the people who run the rec. center who they were exactly, but that one was also very popular and hilarious. Some of the prizes were; an ipod video, an ipod nano, sports equipment, various hats, gift cards, baskets with beauty products, golf bag etc. In the afternoon preceding the buck n doe they ran a Texas hold'em tourney. Have fun!

I haven't been to a Buck and Doe in a LONG time...things have certainly changed from when I used to go to them.
