| Greetings from Port Dover, I was just downtown and it is already crazy. There are alot of preparations underway for the 13th and there are definately some motorcycles in town already. The town is busy putting porti potties everywhere as well as trash cans, signage, and barracades are at the ready. I think this event is going to be huge and I hope that everyone in Dover gets their errands done today as tomorrow it will be impossible, even getting a Timmy's coffee will be an excruciating task. Then come Saturday morning things will return to normal and the clean up begins. I am sure they will set a Guiness record, if the weather co- operates. | |

| I hope everyone held on to their residents pass or they might have a long wait getting home if they leave town. | |

| This is my favorite event of the year, Fishfest would have been second. Can't wait until the Maple Leaf comes out next week to see all the boo-hooing about the big bad bikes. I find Art-in-the-Park a bigger pain then the bikes. At least the money is left in town as opposed to leaving and not being used for different organizations that can use it for worthy causes. | |

| Unfortunately it was cancelled 2 years ago, due to the fishermen going to Port Stanley and other places that they fish. Also the lack of people willing to help make it run. The Knechtel Family tried to keep it going but they are only so many of them. But yes it was a good time because it was the only week-end that Dover people could be at the beach without all the Gorbies. | |

| Looking forward to Friday. I enjoy seeing all the bikes and many of the bikers are interesting too . I anticipate a massive traffic problem in Delhi at the Big Creek bridge . The bikers coming from the west will have to detour thru town because the bridge is under construction and is only one way heading west . Last year on the July 13th at about noon there were bikers from the lights at main and king all the way out of town ,probably more than a mile . Interesting to see what happens. I bet the cops hope it rains ! | |

| Went to Turkey Point last night lots of bikes on the way and down there. Was just outside here at work and you can hear the bikes on Norfork Street heading to Dover. I'm just east of there. Will probably hear them all night too as we live only one street west of Norfork. Timmies had a few bikers in for coffee this am on my way to work at the White Horse. Hope everyone enjoys the day and they break the record! Lots of monies for the groups working down there today too. Hope the "newbee's" aren't to upset. | |

| I don't think anyone can actually drive into Dover (unless you live there and have a pass or on a bike) Think there is parking on the Cockshutt and they will shuttle you in. Call the radio station or Information Centre in Simcoe. | |

| They are hoping for 10 000! bikes to break the Guinness Book of World Record for number of bikes in one place... and expecting 150 000 people! Can you believe it? If it doesn't rain, they might get close. But how many SUNBURNS will there be? OUCHIE!
This morning, I saw two police officers riding motorbikes with their golden helmets at the head of a herd of BIG bikes with BIG bikers going through Simcoe downtown. They looked so powerless and out-numbered. (I know..I know....the majority of these bikers are not troublemakers....but if ever something started...it would be scary....)

- No official numbers have been released yet, but Norfolk Manager of Tourism and Economic Development Clark Hoskin says Friday the 13th in Port Dover has well surpassed the 10,000 motorcycle mark. The event hoped to set the record for gathering of motorcycles at a single event. Hoskin says that number is still steadily on the increase as the minutes pass. Norfolk OPP say all remains peaceful and enjoyable as of mid-afternoon.

| I went and spent nearly five hours walking around and looking at all the sights. Drove there in my car. My Brother is a Port Dover resident and he always gets me a pass. No traffic at all on Highway #6 coming from Simcoe at 11:30. Only one other car going in on Highway #6 when I did. They said they had handed out over 11,000 tags to bikers by 2 p.m.. Even at that -- I'd swear that the crowd was at least 20% smaller than last Summer. Didn't see anywhere near as many out of province plates that I saw the last few Summer Friday The 13th's.
Tons of Police on duty to eat up our tax dollars. Talked to one Officer that was shipped in from Kingston for the day. Didn't see even a hint of trouble.

| I had never heard the explanation of the symbolism of Friday the 13th until today...religious, actually. Jesus died on Good Friday and the 13th person at the Last Supper was Judas, the one who betrayed Him. | |
