| And don't forget about Step Fathers Their role can be just as influential as the biological father. | |

| Why limit it to one day a year? Same with Mother's Day.
My wife asked me what I wanted for Father's Day. I told her I already had what I wanted, a loving wife and daughter.
What more can a Father ask for?

Who to thank...
My biological father whom my mom left when I was 2 because he beat us....
Or....
My stepfather who was one of the cops in Hamilton that won 21 million dollars in the lottery (he got 1.8 mil) and then he immediately after asked my mom for a divorce and I never saw him again.....
Hmmmmmmmm haha...... | |

| Rye: These "media-imposed" holidays like Mothers Day and Fathers Day etc. are not always a source of joy for everyone. And sometimes they are truly painful in group settings where everyone takes for granted that fathers should be celebrated. My husband did not even KNOW who his father was for 21 years of his life. So he too tended to disregard these celebrations. And still has no great involvement in traditions.
Perhaps, in the future, Rye, if you become a father, you will finally be able to celebrate fatherhood and Fathers' Day as it was meant to be!

| No kids for me. And the funny part was, my stepdad could afford a better lawyer at the time, and made the claim that he had already seperated from my mom and wasn't living there when he won the money, which was a complete lie but since his lawyer argued the better case he got most of it...my mom got our house paid off, and she got to keep it....so that was nice I guess.... I went through it all and pretty much got forgotten about and ended up just moving out when all this shiznit was going down so I guess when it does come to fathers day it does bring back bad memories so I choose to just ignore the day.....meh Don't mean to whine or look for sympathy haha just telling why I wouldn't celebrate father's day | |

| Not all Father's are bad Rye,sounds like you got a couple bad apples, My Father was always there for me,in the good times and the bad,and there was a lot of bad times,I've always tried to be there for my son,and on Father's day there's no better place to be than with my family .On Sunday my Wife and I are going to Waterloo to a church service where my son is the Youth Pastor and then spend some time with him and his wife.I hope you have a great day on Sunday I'll be thinking of you. PS I'll say a word to the big guy up there to help you forgive your Father's. | |

| One great man in my life was my grandfather...unfortunetly he passed away a few years ago...but he taught me a lot more than I could have ever known..he was like macguyver...always building something.... Him and my grandma used to ride their red and blue scooters to port dover every fri the 13th probably about 6 or 7 years ago or more now....hahha And rifraf I understand you're just trying to be nice and I really don't mean to be rude but I don't believe in god or a higher power so please don't pray for me | |
