Woofstock...front page news!!

Does this celebration "of canine survivors of cancer" really merit a front page spread in the Toronto Sun today?

Are they digging really deep for important news stories? Are we really digging that deep to celebrate something/anything?

Am I just hard-hearted and too darn realistic to appreciate this news story?
What next? A celebration of feline survivors of the neutering process?

From my point of view, just be glad your pet didn't pass away...and give him/her an extra-juicy bone and get on with your day! But I guess it's better than another murder/suicide/molestation story! (I think those were on the third page! Getting to be too routine. Need a cute doggy on the front page to lift the spirits on a Monday morning.)

What you don't know, cking, is that some of these dogs whose lives were saved went on and made significant contributions to 'dogkind'....

When Woofstock launched in 2003, the Toronto Star called it “the summer of canine love”.  What else can you call 140,000 dog lovers and their four-footed friends coming together each year for this wildly popular doggie love-in!

Woofstock is the largest outdoor festival for dogs in all of North America. Last year it was beamed around the world on CNN for the entire weekend.

I'm a member of CCRT I can vouch there is more to woofstock than just canine cancer as the 'high tea' was to celebrate canines who have survived or are living with cancer but that event was only a kick off to Woofstock
