When travelling you may consider a pre-paid long distance card.
The one I use is P/C card available at Zehrs/ Superstore etc. 4 cents per minute to and from USA. Australia costs 5.6 cents/ minute. United Kingdom 4.9 cents. They have a web site. If you google PC mobility you wil find the URL. Idea
And you can just use it at home for your long distance calls. Pretty cheap and no plans to sign up for.

I was just messin with ya but really you need to calm down a little. Remember these call centers take about a million calls a day, its a huge business obviously, you sort of remind me of a person with road rage driving behind me while im goign 100km/h and you want to go 160km/h to get to where to where you want to go faster while your slamming your hands on the steering wheel and giving me the finger out the window. Have some patience, call them up, wait 10 minutes to get an operator and solve the problem.

Your actually lucky you can get high speed or cable where you are, where I am we cant even get high speed, stuck on dial up like im living back in the 80's still. Nothing is perfect, people, products, equipment, services, once and a while there is glitches and issues that you just have to deal with and im sure you know this issue will be resolved in due time.

"a pre-paid long distance card."
How does that work, Jonas??
Can you call a cell phone with it? Or a landline? Is there any difference in the cost per minute if you call a cellphone??

I've never used it with a cell phone, so I suggest you look up the website for PC mobility and it may tell you there. There is also a customer service number on these prepaid cards which cost $4.00 to $20.00. Once you use the card you can use the same card and top it up by calling the toll free number and using a credit card. That can be done outside of the country. The original card(s) have to be purchased here.

That was pretty ignorant. Have you been reading the posts in this thread or just trying to instigate an argument with me?

I have a problem paying out $200 a month ($20-30 MORE than my actual service use is) to a company and they still threaten to cut off service or send collections even though we pay them every single month. And it seems I'm not the only one that has problems with bell....

That's pretty much the jist of it...and when I have spent more than 2 hours on the phone already with customer service and the executive office and gotten nowhere I get fed up.....and came here to see if anyone else felt the same way.

Then you come in here telling me to calm down because I would probably give you the finger on the road? What are you talking about?

"im sure you know this issue will be resolved in due time."

I don't agree with this statement at all! It is VERY difficult to get tangled issues solved! That's why you have people like Dale Goldhawk biting at the heels of businesses who screw their customers.

By the way, Rye, perhaps you should contact him. (goldhawk.com)

I just got a call from bell collections.

So I had a chat with them!

I told them to just explain WHERE this magical extra $200 payment came from....that's all I wanted.....just an explanation.... Then at least I would feel ok about forking over my hard earned money to them....rather than just for nothing.

They couldn't explain it. I told her that I'm just fed up and am going to just cancel because I'm not paying $200 if you can't explain why......she said ok thank you for choosing bell.

No, really, though.

She didn't care that they were losing the $200 I AM paying them every month....NO customer service....absolutely useless.

excellent service"... lol!

Woo!

I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and cancelled my service with bell today....thank god!!!!!!

The first girl I talked to was more than happy to cancel my service....she said have a great day and transferred me to the east indian cancellation dept.

The first representative....was a little rude, because he would not hear my story, but Im sure I was being just as rude and stubborn back, but thats only because Ive had to deal with them too much lately and Im sick of it! I woke up this morning to have half of my channels on my satellite cut off....so I called to cancel completely....this is what I told the guy on the phone...

He starts off by saying well we can cancel but you have to give 30 days notice so July 13th will be your cancellation day.... I respond by saying, well if you are going to force me to use your service for the next month, I would like to have the channels back that you cut off. They said we cant do that because your account is delinquent. I replied by saying I would not pay for service that Im not going to use (basic channels, that I never watch). They actually took off a 20 dollar package, but let me keep my internet, phone and basic tv....? I didn't understand why they could cut off half of my satellite no problem, on their accord, but can't cut off the WHOLE thing now and then I don't have to pay for an extra month of useless television? He said they could turn my half satellite back on if I paid the balance of $459 that was owing.....which I do not have to pull out of my bum and just give away for things that can't be explaind...especially to pay bell canada.....

I pretty much went in circles and kept asking for the manager because this guy was useless....so after 10 more minutes, of me asking to speak to his manager because he is useless, he puts me hold for another 5 minutes.....then I get the manager, who is also coincidentially east indian (I'm NOT being racist, just pointing out the fact I can barely understand either of them).... After another 15 minutes of dealing with this guy, we worked out a plan to pay 200 by the 19th, another 259 by the 27th, that was the best they could do.... I said fine... at least I'm not paying for channels im not watching, it's just incredible.... I am SO glad I NEVER have to deal with them again....well besides the extra $200 disconnection fee for cancelling my contract early, plus an extra 30 days of service....so all in all my end bill will be about $700, which I will GLADLY pay to tell bell to F OFF and get the hell out of my house! Very Happy

I had an experience very similar to yours with bell Ryan. The funniest part about it was at the end of the scam.... First they said that I owed them $260 for a disconnection fee( when my contract was finnished for bell expressvu) and I called them. I was very polite and asked them if they had f@%*! up.... They told me everything would be fine and they would figure this out. After four bills that told me they owed me money, they gave me a certified check for like $160. HAHA! Whooooo! See if you can have some fun with Bell accounting before you give up.

Hey, RYE! The second East Indian voice/"manager" was probably just the same guy you spoke to first...only he made you wait 5 minutes to make you believe you were being held in sequence to talk to the "manager/supervisor" whatever! Or he passed you along to the next guy in the line at the call centre. I don't believe you ever really get anybody from higher up on the pyramid. And that inane parting shot "Thank you for choosing Bell" when you have just CANCELLED!?? How ridiculous! Talk about reading from a script!

for 2 months I have been paying for long distance calls to Nevada that are not mine and for the last 2 months I keep getting told they would credit my account. Nothing yet has been credited. I so wish Rogers would come to Simcoe so I could get rid of my landline, that the only thing I have with Bell.

Distributel is great! We have used it for long distance phone and fax for years and years! Since it first came out. We have NEVER had an issue of any kind with them! $20 a month.

And Rye, you should NOT be paying that unknown $200 charge! I'm telling you. Email that Dale Goldhawk guy and one call from him and they might just cancel that charge. He is a very public guy. No business likes to be fingered by him. He is in the newspaper and on CFRB. Even Bell is smart enough to know they don't want bad publicity. $200 is $200. If they cannot justify it, then it should disappear from your bill.

Just cut and paste your posting from above and email it to him. I posted the address above. No harm in doing so. And you might be able to keep your $200 in your pocket!

I may do that....

I also find it funny...that I got hung up on 3 times from the bell collections dept as they tried to transfer me to the expressvu dept....

All in all..it took 3 more days to get the channels back on that were cut off before I even got a disconnection notice in the mail....

I'm just happy I'm getting a ton of work right now and have the spare cash otherwise I'd be pretty screwed right about now....

I am letting everyone that I know.......to NOT USE BELL for anything if they can avoid it....I've told them my story and I try to pursuade them to use someone else....I hope no one here has to go through what I have that's for sure!

haha WOW

So if anyone even can believe this...

I called June 13th to cancel my Bell Satellite GARBAGE service.....

They tell me I have to wait 30 days, even though I pay them $150 for an early cancellation....

Our satellite for bell is still on

we have not received a magical cardboard box they said they'd send for us to send the receiver back...

and

THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF OUR CANCELLATION

I think it's time to call that lawyer....

Nope they bill you on your next bill for that, and since there was no record on their computer, there will be no bill for it!

I called and let them have it today...I just happened to talk to the same guy I yelled at to cancel my service last month...and he remember me because I was so irate about the whole situation.... After yelling at him for another 30 mins, then being on hold for another 20 minutes....

I ACTUALLY GOT SOMEWHERE!! omg...

They are crediting me the past 2 weeks, and sending the box out now, and cancelling the service as of today.....

Keep in mind, at the beginning of this phone call, they were prepared to make me pay another 30 days and have my cancellation date August 22nd.....so I actually got somewhere with them....haha....wow.... Well we'll see anyway.... Very Happy
