New movies coming out in the fall

There are two war movies on the way...Miracle of St. Anna (WW2) and Passchendaele (WW1).
Miracle at St. Anna chronicles the story of four black American soldiers who are members of the US Army as part of the all-black 92nd Buffalo Soldier Division stationed in Tuscany, Italy during World War II. They experience the tragedy and triumph of the war as they find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and separated from their unit after one of them risks his life to save an Italian boy.

There are some interesting animated movies coming out..Madagasgar 2, Beverly Hills Chihuahua...(looks crazy!) and The Tale of Despereaux, based on a novel by Kate DiCamillo,"an odd and engrossing fairy tale. The hero, Despereaux Tilling, is a mouse with large ears." Saw the previews. The animation is delightful!

The movie The Wrestler is the first in a long time for Mickey Rourke. He has been out of sight for a while. Will probably see that one. The life and times of a professional wrestler. Ups and downs.

So glad to have the Strand right here in Simcoe! I keep saying that! And I mean it!

I dont get up for movies anymore, very rare to see a great movie these days.

We like to go to the Strand with our 11 year old son when there is a good flick on. There are so few things to go and see that is appropriate for his age group. We just finished watching the Indiana Jones trilogy at home and he loved it! The "clean" action adventure are a rare but popular movie.

No, not great, Skully, but some are good..or mildly entertaining at least. I agree that the storylines have become a bit "pre-packaged" and predictable. I still like to go though..... I found the new Star Wars animated Clone Wars to be entertaining. And the kids like Space Chimps. Silly but OK. Indiana Jones was classic. Harrison Ford is still credible. Did most of his own stunts. But kind of a carbon copy of the other episodes.

Passchendaele looks to a very good movie, (saw a bit on it on the net somewhere) another movie I have been waiting for is Villeneuve. A movie about the life of a great Canadian F1 pilot Gilles Villeneuve
