- Cdn Tire is pretty good, reasonable and you can watch what they're doing through the windows. If you join their auto club you get a couple of coupons for free oil changes. With the cost of towing these days $100 for a year is good especially if you deduct the cost of the 2 oil changes.
Thats a better idea they do a good job too

| Jiffy Lube really tries to sell you extra stuff. On one hand, it's good because they bring things to your attention. But I always wondered if they push more than they need to. However, I had a problem on my last visit where they never tightened the oil filter, so I was leaking oil. Such a simple thing which should never have been screwed up, so I don't bother with them anymore.
I always use the dealer. But the condition of the local little Honda place is a turn-off (part of the reason I bought a Toyota). In your case (with a used car), I might be inclined to try Walmart - just because you can browse while they work on your car.

| When living in Simcoe, I had frequented the local CTC services. Then one day, I had a major problem with the billing...double billed for exactly the same parts. Service manager didn't help. So I wrote to the owner and got LOTS of satisfaction. But, they lost my business. My son told me my picture was on the staff room dart board and well used! LOL | |

| Nothing wrong with Walmart or Costco ...About $35 at Walmart and they check and fill all other fluids as well as check tire pressure | |

at Walmart and they check and fill all other fluids as well as check tire pressure That's all I pay at the dealership that I go to, for the exact same services.

| Went to Canadian Tire once. Got four new tires. They never balanced them. Over 60 she shimmied bad. Will never go back. | |

It's always been my experience at all dealerships and service centers that I have visited that no one balances tires unless you ask them to. And when you do, they charge an obscene price for it, considering what a minor task it is.

| I usually change my own but a few years ago after purchasing a new car I decided to take it to the dealer for oil changes. The first time they did it they over filled the engine with oil. Went back the next day and they had a bunch of reasons why it happened, one being the computer had the wrong amount of oil this engined needed. The real reason --- The dipstick forgot to check the dipstick when he was done. Well back to doing my own. | |

| I bought my car at Koncir Automotive in Simcoe and that's where I do all my maintenance including oil changes. Only takes about 20 minutes and for my 4 cylinder it is $20 plus taxes and they check all my fluids, do the air pressure in my tires, check all my lights etc. | |
