It's a Small World Empty

Having traveled a lot when I was younger, I experienced several "It's a Small World" situations.

One time, during a high school sponsored trip, I was walking with a friend along the streets of London, England. My friend (who was older and loved to try to pick up absolutely any girl he could) would say hi to every girl we passed. One time, we passed 2 British girls ... as usual, he said hi to them as we passed ... and as we kept walking, a voice said, "Hey - I know you!". It turns out they had met at a campground near Turkey Point, when she visited Canada the summer before.

Feel free to share your "It's a Small World" stories ...

While vacationing in Barbados about 10 years ago I ran into my insurance man at the resort and he informed me that there were other people staying down the beach that I also knew but never did run into them.

While travelling in Florida, we stopped in Lake City, checked into our motel and walked down to the pool with some refreshments. Sitting down at a table we began to talk to the neighbouring table and found to our surprise that they lived a block away from us!!

On our panama cruise, we were met at the airport by a guide who used to live in Jarvis. Later in the Cayman islands we talked to a guide att a tourist trap who was from Ottawa but her grandparents still live behind Sobeys in Simcoe. On the ship one of the entertainers was from Burford and a couple of other workers were from Hamilton.

As a child, I would periodically go to the candy store across from the school in Port Dover. It was an older fellow who ran it, and he and his family lived above the store.

When I was 20, I moved to BC. My first job there was with a Woolco store in Burnaby. During my break, I sat with some of the staff in the restaurant and introduced myself. After a short discussion, I discovered that I was sitting across from the daughter of the man who owned that candy store.
