BEIJING (AP)—Storm clouds have been looming over Olympic softball since the day it was voted off the 2012 program.
They let loose on Thursday.
Heavy rains washed out the U.S. team’s game against Canada, which was leading the gold-medal favored Americans 1-0 in the top of fourth inning when play was stopped for the second time. The game was suspended following a lengthy delay.
The teams will pick up where they left off on Friday, but only after Canada plays China and the U.S. takes on Japan.
