| I need a new cell phone because of something that happened to me Tuesday night. I deal with Rogers so that leaves me with "the Source" " Audio Avenue" and good ole "Wally world" to get a phone from. Well I went to the Source last night at 5:30 only to find out they close at 5:30 Audio Ave. same thing close @ 5:30 So I headed to Wally.....................ugh I stood there for 30 minutes before the girl could pull herself away from her co-worker talking to help me only to find out the phone I want that they have on display they no longer carry Ok so why is it on display then? I didnt like the other phones, I will only buy Motorola. Sucks when you have to work for a living and cant get to places in town because they are closed | |

| I bought a cell phone about 2 months ago at the RCSS. It one of those that you don't have to a plan with just top up with phone card or with credit card. Seems to be OK for what I need and they are open after supper and Sunday. | |

| I have been happy with Ted at Audio Avenue. Local and in business for years and very helpful, I have found. - Leslie wrote:

| If local independents can't be bothered to have convenient hours for today's society, there's always Walmart. They have Rogers phones. | |

| I must admit that I have had trouble finding good local products to buy until the North Shore Tobacco Company came along recently. Can't wait to draw in that true Norfolk flavour and taste that can only be grown here.
With it's distinctive blue fliter it's sure to be a hit with the kids and "in" crowd!
So when it's time to relax or just sit back after a hard day you don't have to go far to enjoy a quality cigarette. Try Norfolk County's own North Shore smokes. Another value added product from Norfolk County.
You can taste the difference Norfok makes!

Walmart girl was too busy talking to her co worker last night Yes, Walmart doesn't manage their staff at all. It's rather surprising to me that any of the stores survive. And we, as excessively polite Canadians, tend not to do anything about it. If I really need something, I'll either interrupt the employee or do something to get someone to help me. If you have a little devil in you, start acting suspicious, like opening boxes, constantly checking over your shoulder, or trying to slide the locks off of the glass cabinets. Someone of importance will likely show up saying, "Can I help you?" Having said that, I have never had good service from an actual Roger's phone store. Bell stores, on the other hand, are usually extremely good* ... unlike the rest of the company. * except for the one in Simcoe

| About Rogers coverage ... I'm curious if it has improved. I had Rogers for many years, but when I moved back to this area, I found they had terrible coverage. For example, if I was in parts of Zehrs (back then) or Zellers, I got no reception. And parts of Dover had dead zones, despite the new tower that went up outside of town. I was actually connecting to US cell towers.
I switched to Bell and have gotten a great signal everywhere, even in my basement, which is a long way from the tower.
Anyway - Just wondered If Rogers has improved and what your experience has been in such locations using Rogers.

| I find Rogers coverage area far better then Bell. Both my sons have Bell and alot of dead zones. I have never had a problem. I used to live by Dover and went with Rogers because the service was better. I know the kids used to have Problems around the lake with Bell Turkey Point was the worst. Fingers crossed it stays this way I prefer Rogers. As for the Bell store in Simcoe they are not the greatest when it comes to service! | |

Could get NO service in Port Dover and sporadic service in Simcoe. I switched in August 07 to Bell and have had impeccable service everywhere, ever since. I would never go back to Rogers, regardless - their customer service was terrible. As for Bell customer service - well I don't know because I haven't needed it since changing to them.

| I have Bell and there is one place I have no service - on the Rez (getting gas). Travelled all over for my kid's hockey and never ever have had a problem. Even when I am in the stores, clear reception at all times. | |

That's because the natives want to charge for signals that cross through the air over their land. Consequently, a force field was erected to prevent that from happening.

| If you just need a new phone just take your old SIM card from the old phone and place it in a new one. I have purchased phones on ebay a couple of times without anyt problem. As long as they are a phone that's a Rogers or Cingular carrier it is not problem. It's a heck of alot cheaper than extending your contract another three years with Rogers or paying out $300 for a phone that is only worth $50 and you end up throwing it away after two years. | |

| Wish I was. I thought everyone had heard about that. This topic (like other local events) makes me so enraged about some natives that I just don't want to talk about it. Canadian Natives Want Cut from Cell Phone Traffic | |
