I'm planning to offer rides to a Simcoe grocery store for those who are elderly, disabled or without a vehicle. Won't be able to make it a full time effort, but am certainly willing to help where I can. Not planning a formal 'charge' for the service, but would welcome donations for gas.

Just a quick note; due to some construction issues with the high school in Delhi, the Community Career Resource Centre summer hours have been changed.

Until further notice, the CCRC�s are open as follows:

Monday � Waterford � 9am to 3pm (Closed this coming Monday for Labour Day)

Tuesday � Port Rowan � 10am to 4pm

Wednesday � Port Dover � 12pm to 6pm

Thursday � Delhi � 12pm to 6pm

I recently was at the County office and had to wiggle my way through the group of kids clustered on the step including one step over a skateboard. We are saddened and shocked by the deaths of those in our age group, like it can't happen to us. One thing I learned in my profession at an early age, is "Life is Short". I think when I turned 40 it wasn't turning 40 that bothered me, it was realizing my own mortality. I have seen children, young mothers, fathers and grandparents all lose the battle of illness. It never seems fair, but it is reality.

Life shouldn't be treated lightly. Our friends, family and co workers may not ...

I have recently started reading articles about December 12, 2012. They talk about the Mayan calendar ending so....well....I'm not sure what exactly. Apocolypse? A time of great change for the earth and its inhabitants? Something to do with the sun? The tilt of the earth? I have also read that 2009-2012 will be a time of great despair and catastrophic events followed by years of tranquility...or something to that effect. Any thoughts?

I had the following experience updating the maps on a Garmin c530 GPS. Purchased about two years ago, I decided to update the maps since there have been a couple of situations where new development and roads really fooled the GPS.

The update was for the North America maps. I could not purchase the update on the internet because internet Garmin products are only sold to US and UK customers. Arranged with The Source to purchase the DVD and when it arrived I tried to update the GPS unit. ...

this is so good!!!!!

1 package yellow cake mix with pudding

1 1/4 cups orange juice, no pulp

1/3 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 stick butter, unsalted

1/2 cup orange juice

1 cup sugar

Follow normal instuctions on cake mix, only substituting pulp free OJ for water.

Bake in a bundt pan. Make sure you grease the pan.

Icing:

Combine over low heat, butter, orange juice and sugar.

While cake is hot, AND STILL IN THE PAN, poke holes in cake with a wooden ...

I have talked to employees who have basically been kept in the dark and they have been given several dates the most recent being the beginning of October, after the tourist season is over. We went to the doggie swim at the Delhi Kismen Pool yesterday. It was great and showed me what it would be like to have a leash-free park in our area. There were all kinds of dogs there big and small. Some were swimming and some were just running and having a great time. Nobody was leashed and nobody fought.
